Ways to Support ACES Xavier

To achieve our mission of engaging families in a life of leadership and learning through faith and service, strong support of the Annual Fund Appeal is needed each year.  St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System wants to be the leading partner of families, the Church and the community for faith-based leadership, learning and service. 

What is the Annual Fund Appeal for the students?
General unrestricted giving to the Annual Fund Appeal is critical to supporting our overall operating budget and helping to fund teacher salaries in addition to purchasing textbooks, course supplies, technology and much more for all six campuses.  Did you know that delivering on the promises of Catholic education – faith, academics and service – costs more than what tuition covers?  Your investment in this effort is much appreciated and needed. 

In addition to tuition, the cost to educate students is born by the staff who work for less than their public school counterparts, the parishes who provide subsidy and all who support of the varied fund-raisers of St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System.

What is the Annual Fund Goal?
The goal is to raise $300,000 from all of our supporters including the Board of Trustees, the ACES Xavier Foundation Board, parents (current and past), alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff and friends of St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System. 

How often will I be asked to contribute?
We will ask you to make an Annual Fund gift during each fiscal year – July 1 through June 30.   Ongoing requests will occur during the course of the year.   You can expect written requests, phone call or a personal visit. 

How much should I give?
You are asked to give an amount that is reasonable for your family.  Gifts of every size are important and make a difference to our students.   We receive gifts from $5 - $15,000.   Gifts of $1,000 or more are vital to our ability to achieve our mission.   Please prayerfully consider a gift that is meaningful to you.

How is the Annual Fund different than other fund-raisers?
The Annual Fund is a critical component to balancing the system budget.   Fund-raisers that are part of a campus home and school association directly benefit that campus.   Booster Club fund-raisers are tied to the co-curricular athletic programs of a campus.   Celebrate is part of 3rd source funding and is the single largest fund-raising event for the system.   The goal of Celebrate is $200,000.  Corporate sponsorships, silent and live auctions, raffles and other fun activities raise this money in a great community building atmosphere. 

Is my Annual Fund gift tax-deductible?
Unlike tuition, Annual Fund contributions are fully tax deductible according to IRS guidelines.   Please contact your financial or tax advisor for details.  

Can my gift be matched by my employer?
Yes!  Matching gift programs are a great way to increase your giving to St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System.  Many companies will match employee contributions.  We are grateful to those corporations currently contributing to St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System through their employee match programs.  Ask your employer if they will match your next gift!

Please be sure to choose St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System as the recipient of your gift.  We will apply the match to the purpose and/or campus that you designate.  All supporting documentation should be sent to the Development Department in Central Office at 101 E. Northland Avenue so we can verify your gift.

How can I help St. Francis Xavier Catholic Schools reach its Annual Fund goal?
There are a variety of ways to donate to the Annual Fund.   We accept checks, cash, VISA, MasterCard and stock transfers.   You can make a gift online at www.acesxavier.k12.wi.us/development/ways to give or return the reply card mailed to you in your Annual Fund mailing with your gift.   For gifts of stock, please contact the Development Office at 920-735-9380.

Event Sponsorship/Attendance - All of our major events including Celebrate, Christmas Stars, NEW Passion Play, Food Fair, the Alumni Golf Outing and a host of other events offer sponsorship opportunities at many different levels.  Your sponsorship helps  St. Francis Xavier Catholic Schools and is a great marketing opportunity.  Several of our events draw hundreds or even thousands of participants and you can proudly be seen as a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Schools family. 

Attending the above mentioned events also supports St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System and is a great way to meet other families and have a great time.   Watch Spirit, school newsletters and News and Notes for information on upcoming events.  

Participate in the Scrip Program - Scrip is a gift card resale program in which St. Francis Xavier Catholic Schools families and friends can purchase gift cards for many local and national businesses.  The revenue generated can be used as payment toward your tuition. A portion of the revenue also supports St. Francis Xavier Catholic School Systems.  Scrip can be ordered online or at any individual school location.  Orders placed online must be picked up at a designated school location.

Keeping Tuition Affordable for all - St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System is committed to working with families to ensure that the opportunity of a Catholic education is affordable and accessible.   The Angel Fund makes this possible.   Support of this area is vital.  

Once in St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System, the Angel Program covers assistance for short term financial challenges such as unemployment, medical emergency or other family emergencies.  Confidential applications can be mailed to 101 E. Northland Avenue, Appleton, WI 54911, Attn: Angel Grant.   You are part of our family and we want you here through the graduation of your child.

Planned Giving - We partner with the expertise of the Community Foundation to work with donors to structure gifts that can greatly benefit St. Francis Xavier Catholic Schools while providing substantial tax benefits.  Gifts can also be structured to benefit a particular program, campus or event that a donor wishes to support.

Bequests - St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System can work with your trusted advisors to ensure your estate plan can help the causes you believe in.  We can advise on wording and techniques that can ensure smooth administration and that your gift accomplishes want you desire.  Your estate plan is the legacy of your life.  We will work with you to ensure that legacy goes on forever.   

In Kind donations – St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System will gladly accept your in kind donations.   Donations of paper, printer ink or other types of school supplies are always appreciated.   Please let us know if you have something you would like to donate.  

Endowments –The ACES Xavier Foundation currently manages over 60 funds that benefit ACES Xavier.   Contributions may be made to the ACES Xavier Foundation at any time to any of these funds.  An endowed fund may be established in honor or memory of an individual.   The most common type of endowed fund is a scholarship fund.   With an investment of $10,000 or more, donors may establish a need-based scholarship fund that is used to support St. Francis Xavier Catholic School students through the FACTS scholarship program.  An investment of $25,000 or more is needed to establish a more specific type of fund.
